Meet the Storytellers
Since WhereNext’s founding in 2015, our clients—from coffee pioneers to outdoor gear giants to tourism industry vanguards—have trusted us to tell their stories. But who are the members of our storytelling agency team who help bring your stories to life?
Introducing our video and post-production team: the videographers, editors, sound engineers, and animators who have told stories worldwide from the untouched vastness of Antarctica to the remote jungles of Colombia.
Julian Manrique - Head of Video
Julian is our Colombian film production studio’s agency’s Head of Video. He has trekked across almost 40 countries while filming over 200 productions for WhereNext, creating everything from feature-length nature documentaries to marketing videos for brands such as Columbia Sportswear, Merrell, and Nescafé.
In 2019, Julián filmed and directed Esteban Chaves: Behind the Smile for SCOTT Sports. The documentary won Honorable Mention in the Sports Documentary of the Year category by the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (FICTS) at the Milano International FICTS Fest in Italy. He also filmed and edited the documentary short “The Value of a Wild Heartbeat” for our client Cat Footwear - this entire campaign won five prestigious Telly Awards in 2020.
Julian’s Director of Photography credits include his work with Abercrombie & Kent in Antarctica, “The Value of a Wild Heartbeat,” a travel film series in India with World Nomads, and the documentary “Thereabouts 3,” also for SCOTT Sports. For the documentary series The Birders, he worked as DOP, Assistant DOP, and Director during different portions of the shoot. Additionally, he served as DOP and Director of a branded content series for our client CANVA, highlighting the impact of their software on classrooms and startup businesses in Colombia.
